Spreading joy: Our International Friendship Day Celebration

Friends make every day sweeter and yesterday, our Queenstown Central team took that to heart.

To mark International Friendship Day, our team headed out in their QC blue hats, on a mission to share just some good things from Queenstown Central with the people who make this place what it is: you. And what a day it turned out to be. We were delighted to connect with over 280 people across the centre, sharing smiles, good chats, and a few sweet surprises along the way.

Keeping an eye out for the blue hats paid off for plenty of you. Over the course of the day, our team handed out 270 treats – chocolates, lollipops, and macaroons – to visitors, shoppers, and friends old and new. It was a simple gesture, but the smiles it created were anything but small.

45 lucky winners with even sweeter prizes

For 45 lucky people, the surprise went further. We gave away vouchers to some of the amazing stores and venues that call Queenstown Central home, including:

Bakers Lane, Whitcoulls, Kmart, Glassons, Hallensteins, Max, Barkers, Mooch, MacPac, Mountain Warehouse, Soul Food, Tahuna Florist, Social Clothing, Love Chicken, BaseNZ, Jamies Jewellers, Sal’s Pizza, Drop’d at Pavilion Bar & Kitchen.

A huge thank you to each of these stores and venues for partnering with us to make the day extra special.

International Friendship Day is a reminder that community is built one small moment at a time – a shared laugh, a kind word, a chocolate handed over with a smile. Queenstown Central is more than just a place to shop; it’s a place where good things are found daily and friendships are made, whether that’s between neighbours bumping into each other over coffee, or between our team and the people we get to see every day.
