Discover Creative Spaces at Queenstown Central | 01 – 30 November
WHEN: 01 - 30 November
WHERE: Queenstown Central Town Square | Pavilion Bar & Kitchens | Hustl. Cafe
Art is popping up in unexpected places at Queenstown Central this November, as we join the district-wide Creative Spaces Project, celebrating local artists and bringing creativity into everyday spaces.
Created by Three Lakes Cultural Trust in partnership with Queenstown Lakes District Council, the Creative Spaces Project transforms familiar locations across the region into places to discover and experience art throughout November.
We’re excited to be hosting local photographer Sampford Cathie’s The Art of Seeing, alongside two more creative exhibitions at Pavilion Bar & Kitchens and Hustl. Cafe.
Double Vision – Sampford Cathie
What does it mean to be a photographer when your own vision is uncertain?
Diagnosed with keratoconus at just 18, Wānaka-based photographer Sampford Cathie experiences the world through a condition that distorts his vision, creating a kaleidoscopic blur.
Despite this, Sampford built a career behind the lens. His exhibition, Double Vision, explores his experience through photography and storytelling, offering a personal perspective on sight, perception and the way we experience the world.
The exhibition is presented on illuminated panels and is particularly striking after dark.
We’re proud to support this thought-provoking installation alongside South Island Light Orchestra and invite visitors to experience the world through a different lens.
Where: Queenstown Central Town Square, outside Pavilion on Central Street
When: 1–30 November 2026
